App: Baseball schauen mit MLB At Bat 2010

Auch wenn Baseball in Deutschland nicht so viele Fans hat wie in den USA, wollen wir euch eine der besten Anwendungen für das iPad nicht vorenthalten: MLB At Bat App 2010. Schon im letzten Jahr sorgten MLB und Apple mit der At Bat App für das iPhone für Aufsehen, womit man nicht nur aktuell über die MLB-Spiele auf dem Laufenden gehalten wurde, sondern sich gar auch Video Highlights und Live-Spiele anschauen konnte. Für das iPad wurde die App noch einmal neu programmiert und schon bei der Präsentation des Tablet Computers im Januar vorgestellt.
Was kann MLB At Bat 2010? In Echtzeit kann man die Spiele in der Major League Baseball verfolgen. Dabei werden von jedem Pitch die Lage, die Geschwindigkeit und die Art angezeigt. Dazu werden noch ausführliche Statistiken, inklusive der Boxscores angezeigt und die einzelnen Spielzüge graphisch aufgearbeitet. Zudem kann man Video Highlights anschauen, sowie den Radiokommentatoren, egal ob vom Heim- oder Auswärtsteam, live zuhören.
Baseball schauen auf dem iPad mit MLB At Bat 2010
Wenn man zusätzlich noch das MLB.tv-Abo besitzt, kann man zudem sogar Live-Spiele über das iPad anschauen. Dies ist besonders für das Wi-Fi + 3G Modell interessant, da man damit praktisch überall, ob nun im Park, am Strand oder einfach nur unterwegs kein Baseballspiel verpassen braucht. Die App wird im Laufe der Saison noch weiter verbessert und bekommt noch ein paar zusätzliche Features verpasst, so dass man demnächst auf den kompletten Inhalt von MLB.com zugreifen kann.

MLB At Bat 2010 für das iPad ist aber nicht ganz billig. Bei iTunes ist die App für $14,99 zu kaufen. Will man Live-Spiele sehen, braucht man zusätzlich noch einen MLB.tv-Zugang bei MLB.com, der im Monat zwischen $19,90 und $24,95, bzw. zwischen $99,95 und $119,95 im Jahr kostet.

Baseball might not be that popular in Europe, but we still want to show you one of the best apps for the new iPad from Apple. It was one of the applications shown by Steve Jobs during the presentation in January, the MLB At Bat 2010 app. Apple and MLB Advanced Media already made a splash last year with the introduction of the iPhone At Bat app, where you were able to follow the games pitch by pitch, listen to live radio and even watch selected games live.

Now they have designed the app in particular for the iPad. You can track location, speed and type of every pitch thrown in a MLB game live. You can check box scores, extensive statistics, player profiles and play by play. Additionally you can listen to home and away radio broadcasts and watch in-game video highlights.
But the app doesn’t stop there. If you’re a subscriber of MLB.tv you can even watch live games through your iPad. This will be especially interesting with the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G model, as you basically will be able to watch baseball games from everywhere, if it is the park, the beach or somewhere else outside. MLB At Bat 2010 will be updated further throughout the season. The developers have announced that they will add access to all the content from MLB.com for example.

MLB At Bat 2010 for the iPad doesn’t come cheap. You can buy it in iTunes or the App store for $14.99. If you want to watch live games you need an additional MLB.tv package, which varies between $19,90 and $24,95 monthly, and between $99,95 and $119,95 for the year, although the season prices will go down throughout the summer.
